Visiting the CUIC

The Cornell University Insect Collection is a research collection, and we cannot support open public visits to the Collection. Our public outreach activities include educational tours for students registered in Cornell University classes, and our participation in the annual Insectapalooza public open house sponsored by the Cornell University Department of Entomology.

Specialists may visit the collection to study specimens in the collection, and to consult our extensive type holdings. Prospective visitors should contact the collection manager Jason Dombroskie (JJD278 “at” Cornell.edu) to determine a mutually agreeable time for a visit. We can supply microscopes and fibre-optic illuminators, and phase-contrast compound microscopes for visitor use. For student visitors without sufficient institutional or governmental support, the CUIC can provide modest support for accommodation costs, when appropriate, during time spent in Ithaca. Contact the collection manager for information.
