Jason Gibbs

Dr. Jason Gibbs joined the CUIC in October, 2010. He received his PhD from York University in Toronto, Canada, in 2009 under the direction of Laurence Packer. Dr. Gibbs has expertise in halictine systematics, DNA barcoding, and taxonomic revisionary work. Dr. Gibbs will be working on a variety of projects at Cornell, including molecular systematics of halictine bees (especially the genus Lasioglossum), surveys of wild bees in apple orchards, and a major project on specimen-level databasing of our bee collection through a grant from the National Science Foundation [Bee Databasing Project].
